How to Take a Peak Under Anyone's Clothes Without Getting Caught

- The LEXID - X-ray Imaging Device

I'll start by saying that this is either the closest thing to Superman's vision I've ever seen, but, on the other hand, it's the dream gadget for every voyeur out there. And this is because the LEXID - X-ray imaging device is a portable machine which allows users to see through solid objects in real time,
with all the advantages provided by a handheld product.

The Handheld "Lobster-Eye" X-ray Inspection Device (the official name the acronym LEXID stands for) developed by POC (Physical Optics Corporation) provides through-the-wall wall focusing and acquisition of backscattering photons from a hidden object irradiated by a cone beam from a low power X-ray generator. The X-ray optic focusing, combined with the X-ray detector significantly lowers the exposure dose, greatly enhancing image resolution.

Moreover, at the emitter side, the collimating optics increases flow of X-rays for deeper penetration through objects of interest, with the same X-ray tube. And since we're on the subject, it's important to note the fact that the device's rays can penetrate through walls and even 75mil steel.

Quite obviously, the device is not exactly designed for the use mentioned in the title. Thus, according to the company, the LEXID has been designed especially for unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) inspection, port security contained scanning, as well as X-ray vision system for industrial and medical use and, more importantly, weapon detection. Thus, it is very likely that this thing will become an important piece from the gear for custom officers, as well as the military and various other law-enforcement agencies.

Unfortunately, though, this is only an emerging technology, so there's no word on just how much one of these things will cost, or whether they'll ever become commercially available. Which means that the world's voyeurs will have to wait a bit more before they can fully enjoy their passion for peeking.
